PADI Underwater Naturalist

Take the PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty course and you’ll see new things, even on the most familiar scuba diving sites. Why? Because when know more about symbioses, underwater ecology, and aquatic plant and animal habitats, you notice behaviors and see creatures you may have previously missed. Learn more about the local ecosystem and take a closer look on your next scuba diving adventure.

PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers who are at least 10 years old are eligible to take the Underwater Naturalist Specialty course.

You will receive your learning manual within 7 working days of placing your order. This will need to be completed before your practical session(s)

What will you learn?

Through class discussions and on two scuba dives, you’ll learn:

- Key differences between the terrestrial and aquatic worlds.
- Major aquatic life groupings, interactions and information that dispels myths.
- Responsible interactions with aquatic life.

What scuba gear will you use?

All scuba equipment and cylinder air fills are included in the cost of the course - however, it is mandatory that you have your own mask, snorkel and neoprene boots for hygiene reasons. We recommend purchasing a Fish ID book or two before your course to use as a reference on your course and beyond! However, we'll have plenty of Fish ID guides to hand for the course.

Please note course fees do not include entry into training sites or on boat dives if required. Parking fees at sites may also apply.
Vobster admission fees - £17 (members) £23 (non-members) per day (includes up to 3 training dives a day)
Boat fees - £60 per boat session
