The thought of dipping below the surface at night seems mysterious, yet so alluring. Although you’ve been scuba diving at a site many times before, at night you drop into a whole new world and watch it come to life under the glow of your dive light. The scene changes as day creatures retire and nocturnal organisms emerge. If you’ve wondered what happens underwater after the sun goes down, sign up for the PADI Night Diver Specialty course.
What will you learn?
Scuba diving at night teaches you to focus on what you can see in your light’s beam, on controlling your buoyancy by feel, on staying with your buddy and on paying attention to details you may overlook during the day. During three night dives, you’ll practice:
– Light handling & communication techniques and how to make yourself seen.
– Entering, exiting and navigating in the dark.
– Identifying how plants and animals differ or change behaviour at night.
What equipment will I need?
All basic equipment (BCD, regulators, Semi-Dry & cylinder) and cylinder fills are included in the price of your course where needed. However, at this stage in your diving, being an experienced diver is a time where you should start considering purchasing your own diving equipment. Pop into our dive centre for help & advise on choosing the right equipment for you and your style of diving.
It is a requirement that you have your own mask, snorkel and neoprene boots for health & safety reasons. You are also required to have your own primary and back-up torch for this course.
*This course fee only covers your online training, assessments and certification card. Practical training fees, dives, dive equipment and logbook are available at additional fees via Coast2Coast Scuba (please contact us to book onto your practical training).
