SSI Dive Guide Course

The SSI Dive Guide is the first professional-level rating in the SSI system. As a Dive Guide, you'll be qualified to lead certified divers in open water under the supervision of an SSI Instructor. It's the ideal stepping stone for experienced divers who want to start working in the dive industry and progress towards Divemaster and beyond.

▸ Prerequisites

  • SSI Diver Stress & Rescue certification
  • Minimum 40 logged dives to begin; 50 logged dives to certify
  • Experience in Deep, Navigation, and Night/Limited Visibility diving
  • Current CPR, First Aid & O2 Provider certification
  • Medical clearance to dive

  • Minimum age: 15 years old
  • Experienced recreational divers ready to take their first step into the dive industry

  • 🏫 Classroom/theory: Dorset Diving Services, Poole
  • 🏊 Pool sessions: BCP Dolphin Leisure Centre, Poole
  • 🌊 Open water sessions: Vobster Quay, Frome

  • Equipment hire — at this level, students are expected to have their own kit (hire available at extra cost)

  • Transport to/from venues
