SSI Dry Suit Diving Course
If you want to dive comfortably in UK waters year-round, a dry suit is essential. The SSI Dry Suit Diving course teaches you how to use, control, and maintain a dry suit safely — from buoyancy management with an air-filled suit to emergency procedures. Once you've dived dry, you'll never look back.
▸ Prerequisites
- Referral Diver or currently registered for the Open Water Diver course
- Must be a certified Open Water Diver prior to final certification
▸ Minimum Age & Who It's For
- Minimum age: 12 years old
- Any diver who wants to extend their diving season and stay warm in colder UK waters
▸ Locations
- 🏫 Classroom/theory: Online via MySSI
- 🏊 Pool session: BCP Dolphin Leisure Centre, Poole
- 🌊 Open water dives: Vobster Quay, Frome

✗ What's Not Included
- Dry suit hire — available at extra cost; speak to us about sizing and options
- Vobster Quay entry fee (£26 per day)
- Mask, snorkel and boots (must be purchased from Dorset Diving Services)
- Transport to/from venues
ⓘ Good to Know
- Maximum depth: 30m (age 15+) / 18m (age 12–14)
- Can be taken alongside your Open Water Diver course — great for students who already know they want to dive in UK waters
- Dry suit certification also counts as an elective dive in the SSI Advanced Open Water programme
- A medical self-declaration form is required before in-water training begins
