SSI Night & Limited Visibility Course
Diving after dark reveals a completely different ocean. Nocturnal creatures emerge, colours shift under torchlight, and the underwater world takes on an entirely new atmosphere. The SSI Night & Limited Visibility course teaches you the skills and techniques to dive safely and confidently when visibility is reduced — one of the most memorable specialties you can do.
▸ Prerequisites
- Referral Diver (any entry-level scuba certification)
- Must be a certified Open Water Diver prior to final certification
▸ Minimum Age & Who It's For
- Minimum age: 10 years old
- Certified divers ready to experience the magic of diving after dark

- 🏫 Classroom/theory: Online via MySSI
- 🌊 Open water dives: Varies

✗ What's Not Included
- Equipment hire — students are encouraged to use their own kit; hire available at extra cost
- Dive torch (you'll need your own — speak to us for recommendations)
- Vobster Quay/Boat entry fees apply
- Mask, snorkel and boots (must be purchased from Dorset Diving Services)
- Transport to/from venues

- Maximum depth: 30m (age 15+) / 18m (age 12–14) / 12m (age 10–11)
- Night & Limited Visibility is an elective for the SSI Dive Guide programme
- A medical self-declaration form is required before in-water training begins
