The SSI Open Water Instructor (OWI) course is the gateway to a professional career in scuba diving instruction. As a certified SSI Instructor, you'll be qualified to teach and certify students from Try Scuba through to Open Water Diver level. This listing covers the eLearning component — the academic preparation completed online before your practical Instructor Training Course (ITC) and Instructor Evaluation (IE) with us.
▸ Prerequisites
- SSI Divemaster certification
- SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 40
- Minimum 100 logged open water dives
- Current CPR, First Aid & O2 Provider certification
- Medical clearance to dive (within 1 year)

- Minimum age: 18 years old
