SSI Scuba Skills Review — eLearning & Certification Credit Only
Haven’t been diving for a while? The SSI Scuba Skills Review is the perfect way to refresh your knowledge before getting back in the water. This course provides your academic training and certification credit, allowing you to review dive theory, safety concepts, and essential scuba skills online — at your own pace.
What you’ll learn online
- Review of diving physics, physiology, and safe diving practices
- Dive planning, gas management, and buddy procedures
- Pre-dive safety checks and proper equipment assembly
- Equalisation, buoyancy control, and trim techniques
- Navigation, communication, and basic rescue considerations
- Emergency procedures and problem prevention
Optional practical training (booked separately)
After completing the online portion, you can refresh your in-water skills through a confined water session (in a pool or pool-like environment) with an SSI Professional. These sessions typically include:
- Review of equipment setup and buddy checks
- Regulator recovery and mask clearing
- Buoyancy, hovering, and trim control practice
- Emergency ascent and air-sharing drills
- Optional open water dives to reinforce confidence and control
The in-water component is not included with this eLearning product and must be booked separately with Dorset Diving or another SSI Dive Centre that offers Scuba Skills Review sessions.
Important
- Always confirm that the dive centre you intend to use offers the SSI Scuba Skills Review programme and can provide the confined or open water sessions before booking.
- You must hold a valid Open Water Diver (or equivalent) certification to take part in the practical sessions.
- Depending on local requirements, you may need to complete a diving medical questionnaire or provide medical clearance.
