SSI Advanced Adventurer — eLearning & Certification Credit Only

Discover new types of diving and build your confidence underwater with the SSI Advanced Adventurer programme. Designed as the perfect next step after Open Water Diver, this course lets you try five different specialty dives — such as Deep, Navigation, Wreck, or Night Diving — while learning new skills and expanding your experience. This product provides your academic training and certification credit only, giving you access to the online theory before booking your practical dives with an SSI Dive Centre.

What you’ll learn online

• An introduction to five SSI Specialty areas of your choice
• Advanced dive planning and problem management
• Depth limits and considerations for deeper diving
• Navigation techniques and natural orientation underwater
• Refining buoyancy and trim for better control
• Environmental awareness and safe exploration practices

Required practical training (booked separately)

To complete your full SSI Advanced Adventurer certification, you must complete five open water training dives with an SSI Instructor — one from each of your chosen specialties. Common examples include:

• Deep Diving — learn to safely explore beyond 18 metres
• Navigation — master compass and natural navigation
• Night & Limited Visibility — dive after dark with confidence
• Wreck Diving — explore historic underwater structures
• Perfect Buoyancy — improve your trim and control

These open water dives are not included with this eLearning product and must be arranged separately with Dorset Diving or another SSI Dive Centre offering the Advanced Adventurer course.

Important

• Always confirm that your chosen dive centre offers SSI Advanced Adventurer training and can provide your selected specialty dives.
• You must be at least 10 years old and hold an Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent) to participate.
• Completion of individual specialty dives may be credited toward the full SSI Specialty certifications later on.
