Guided Dives

Guided Dives with Dorset Diving

Explore Dorset’s coast and quarry with a friendly local guide. We run guided shore and boat dives along the Poole & Dorset coastline, and we’re at Vobster Quay most Sundays. You focus on the dive — we handle planning, safety briefings, and the logistics.

Kit hire available: reserve what you need during booking and we’ll have it ready in your sizes.

What to Expect

  • Local expertise: guides who know the tides, entries, exits and highlights at each site.
  • Clear briefings: site orientation, route plan, depth/time, signals, lost-buddy and emergency procedures.
  • Low faff, high enjoyment: small groups and smooth logistics for maximum bottom time.
  • Confidence building: ideal if you’re newly certified, a bit rusty, or trying new kit.

Good To Know

  • Minimum certification: Open Water (or equivalent) for most guided dives. We match sites to experience.
  • Recent experience: if it’s been a while, tell us — we’ll plan an easier first dive or suggest a refresher.
  • Medical & fitness to dive: please complete required forms before arrival.
  • Under 18s: a parent/guardian must be on-site throughout; extra consent forms required.
  • Weather & conditions: sites may change for safety; we’ll communicate quickly and offer alternatives.
  • Meeting times & parking: provided in your booking confirmation.

FAQs

Can I bring a non-diving friend or family member?

Yes — spectators are welcome at many shore sites and at Vobster Quay. Boat spaces are for divers only unless stated.

Do you provide air or nitrox?

Air cylinders and air fills are available. If you need nitrox, please ask in advance so we can advise availability for your chosen date.

I’m newly certified. Is guided diving suitable?

Absolutely. Guided diving is perfect for gaining experience in a supportive setting — we’ll tailor depth and site choice.

What if the weather looks poor?

We monitor conditions closely and may switch to a more sheltered site, move to Vobster Quay, or adjust timings if required.
