SSI Try Scuba — eLearning & Certification Credit Only

Curious about scuba? The SSI Try Scuba programme is the perfect first step. This product gives you access to the engaging online theory so you can learn the basics of scuba diving at your own pace. It provides your academic training and certification credit only.

What you’ll learn online

• How scuba equipment works and how it’s used
• Key safety concepts for your first underwater experience
• Essential skills you’ll practise in the water

To get in the water (booked separately)

If you’d like to continue to the practical experience, you will need to complete a confined water (pool or pool-like) session with an SSI Professional. In this session you’ll try on the gear, learn basic skills, and take your first breaths underwater.

Practical training is not included with this eLearning product and must be booked separately with Dorset Diving Services or any other SSI Dive Centre.

• Please check that the dive centre you intend to use offers the SSI Try Scuba programme and can provide the practical session before you commit to booking.
• You may be asked to complete a standard diving medical questionnaire and meet water-comfort requirements.
